Rute: she is tough!

Name: Rute

Gender: F

Age: ~March 2013

Size: medium-big (25kg, 50cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated, sterilised

Story, Personality, Others:
Rute appeared on the street and she was hanging around for around 2 months being fed by some people. But one day she was hit by a car and she came to one of her friends limping. She was then brought to the shelter and immediately sent to the vet. Indeed, she had been hit and one of her back legs was broken. But that did not prevent her from jumping and running around, she seemed not pay attention to any pain!

She was operated immediately (December 2013) but she did not recover immediately. For long time she was running on 3 legs, with the leg that was operated in the air. We had to convince her to use it again… So she did 2 months of hydrotherapy and physiotherapy and now she is perfect. She runs, plays, jumps. You would never guess that her leg was broken. And she is such a lovely dog – nice, gentle, friendly – with people and other dogs.

Unfortunately she also has leishmaniose so again her chances of ever finding a home are even smaller even if this should not be such a big deal as some people make of it…
