Maki: even if you find a dog, if you keep him, he is yours.
Age: d-o-b: beg-2015
Size: big (26kg, 55cm)
Others: dewormed, vaccinated, castrated
A woman found Maki in 2015 when he was not even 1 year old. She kept him until recently when she moved from a house to an apartment and then she brought him to the shelter saying that he was never hers after all. Ridiculous.
Maki had a home but never any attention. He was found handicapped, his back legs are bent which you can see on some pictures and on the movies. She has never taken him to a vet to be seen, never vaccinated him and of course not castrated him.
From the experience we have with similar cases in the shelter, this is most probably something he was born with – and probably why someone threw him on the street. In a young age this could have been corrected with physiotherapy but unfortunately no one has been there for him. Now, as he is a grown adult and given that he has had this for years, there is nothing to be done about it. He is however not uncomfortable. He can live well like he is. He is not in pain, he walks normally, you can see on the movies that he can even run and he likes to do it.
He is a lovely dog, super gentle although a bit shy at the beginning but once he has gained confidence he is lovely. He is good with other dogs. Really good character but will someone see past his handicap and offer him a home? No so likely. People want perfect dogs.
