Negrito: small dog with a small handicap, who cares

Name: Negrito

Gender: M

Age: d-o-b: ~2014

Size: small (5kg, 35cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Negrito was found on the road, somewhere in Azores, laying on the ground, unable to move. He must have been hit by a car. His back legs were broken and he could not move. He was operated. After the operation he was hardly walking and he needed serious physiotherapy.
He was sent to us and immediately introduced to an excellent physiotherapy centre. He spent there 3 months doing various physiotherapy and hydrotherapy exercises. From a dog that could not walk he improved a lot. He walks and runs now. But he still does not use a lot his back left leg. He will probably not get any better than he is now. But he can have a normal life. It does not prevent him from doing anything he wants.

Negrito is a lovely dog. He is very gentle with people, we can do anything to him. He is good on the leash. He is good with female dogs but not all male dogs. Being so small he should know better but he happens to growl and bark at big dogs. Of course his bark is worse than his bite 😉 He is a lovely dog anyway.
