Rebeca: old dog but young at heart!

Information:

Name: Rebeca

Gender: F

Breed: x serra de estrela

Age: d-o-b: September 2008

Size: big (29kg, 55cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story, Personality, Others:

Rebeca´s owner died. Noone from the family wanted to take his dogs. The neighbour brought them to the shelter. Rebeca and her companion Chica. Poor dogs. They were always well treated and no doubt their owner loved them. He definitely does not rest in peace! They came accompanied by the books of vaccinations, they were vaccinated every year. Usually the dogs that are dumped in the shelter have no vaccinations at all or one alone years before, these books were something unusual to see and a proof how much the owner cared about his dogs.

Rebeca is beautiful and gentle. She is very social and not worried about anything. She was brought to the shelter, a new place for her but she just wagged her tail and said hello to everyone, people and dogs. Very cool dog. She walks well on the leash. For her age she seems in excellent health. But of course given her age she will not live for much longer… and it would be wonderful if she could still live in a home and not in the shelter. Will someone find a place in their heart and home for Rebeca?

Elvis: a joy of a dog

Information:

Name: Elvis

Gender: M

Age: d-o-b: January 2021

Size: medium-big (20kg, 50cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story, Personality, Others:

Elvis was found on the road near the shelter, probably abandoned there on purpose so he end up in the shelter. Very common.

He is an absolute joy of a puppy, very friendly, cuddly, playful and gentle. He walks well on the leash, he loves human company, he is attentive but also happy, playful and always wagging his tail. A lovely puppy.

Tessi: very gentle!

Information:

Name: Tessi

Gender: F

Age: d-o-b: November 2020

Size: big (28kg, 55cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated, sterilised

Story, Personality, Others:

Tessi was left (with another dog) in the shelter by her owner who lost her job and had to move out and could not take her dogs with. Lots of tears were shed, she promised to visit as long as the dogs were in the shelter but we have never seen her again.

Tessi and her companion were adopted by a couple afterwards. A month later the couple told us that the dog run away. Unfortunately he was never found. Two months later someone found Tessi on the street, as the chip was registered in the name of the shelter, the shelter was contacted and Tessi was brought there. The people that adopted Tessi never told us they lost her. We are still waiting….. So first they let one dog run away and then the second (but the second one they did not even tell us about and as far as we can see the usual steps that should be taken when looking for a lost dog were not taken).

Tessi deserves better…. She is a lovely, gentle, friendly and cuddly dog. Really nice. She loves human company but she is also very good with other dogs. She walks excellent on the leash, she does not pull, she maintains eye contact. She sits on command. She is used to living in a home. But most of all: she is extremely gentle.
