Mitch: so young, so much suffering

Name: Mitch

Gender: M

Breed: x poodle

Age: d-o-b: ~beg-2018

Size: small (7.5kg, 40cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story:
Mitch was brought to us after he has suffered abuse from his previous owner. He was kicked and beaten with a stick.
He is very nervous. You make a quick movement and he is scared. You lift him up and he cries. He has made a progress and gained some confidence but in a new home he will have to start from scratch, with new people.
What is amazing is that he never snaps. Even when he is very scared. He is just so gentle.
He likes company of other dogs, he is calm in the car and he walks well on the leash.
He just needs a very special and patient family.

Devin was found on the road hit by a car. He was taken to the vet and he was quite battered, he was limping, but an Xray was done and there was no fracture. He was just sore. But time passing he got better.

Maverick: dog passing from hands to hands

Information:

Name: Maverick

Gender: M

Breed: x poodle

Age: d-o-b: June 2012

Size: small (7.5kg, 35cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated, castrated

Story:
Maverick had a home. People got themselves a dog. People had no life for a dog because they were absent from home over 10 hours every day. The dog barked. The neighbours complained.
So they gave their dog to a “friend” who had a house. But the “friend” moved to an apartment and he left the dog in a kill pound. The chip of the dog was registered in the name of the first owners so the pound contacted them about the dog but they did not want him back. He spent some time in this awful place and was extremely neglected.
By fortunate coincidence someone removed the dog from that place and brought him to a private shelter.

Maverick was not so lucky in his life. That explains why he is a bit defensive. He growls when he feels threatened. But is it because he is worried. He needs to develop trust. We are all knew people to him. We know his first owners could do anything to him and they send us lovely pictures from the part of the life the dog had before being abandoned and passed from place to place. It is not surprising he is insecure but if someone would like to invest in him he will be a lovely dog.
He is social with other dogs but a home without children would be better.
