Keisy and her companion, Kiwi, had a home but their owner got sick and the husband did not want to keep the dogs. They were surrendered to the shelter.
They were not neutered or vaccinated and they did not get much care but at least in their life they were treated with kindness. They are sweet and gentle dogs.
Coming to the shelter was quiet a shock for them. Coming from a calm home they ended up in a noisy and busy place. Keisy is a bit shy but she is gaining confidence day by day. She hesitates when we call her but then she comes. And she asks for belly rub. In a home she would gain confidence in no time.
Keisy is good with other dogs and she is very gentle with people. She is not used to living in the house and she does not walk on the leash. She can learn though.

Beautiful Miga had a home since a puppy but her owners moved and brought her to the shelter. Not for everyone the dog is for life…
Miga is used to her home and she is very unhappy in the shelter. Either she does not leave her house, or she leaves it and lies down immediately when we approach as if she was scared. But then she accepts cuddling…. We start seeing her wagging her tail so things are getting better.
We know she had a normal life and she was a happy dog very attached to her owners. It is this abrupt change in her life that makes her confused and sad.
She is a lovely dog, very gentle, lovely with people and good with all other dogs. Hopefully someone can see how beautiful she is and will offer her a home.

Amado was found on the street some time ago and taken to a municipal pound. The pounds now don’t euthanize the dogs but they have no other plans for them either (like rehoming or neutering) apart from accumulating. They are life time deposit for dogs that would be wonderful pets.
This one keeps dogs in small kennels, they never go out and even when the kennels are washed, this is done with the hose and the dog inside.
Amado is 74 kg. Given his size, the kennel was too small for him. He spent over a year in a cage that was barely his size. As the public access to the pounds is rather restricted those things go on for long without anyone protesting.
Any dog would go mad. But due to his wonderful mellow temperament he stayed like he is – gentle, friendly, calm. Simply waiting patiently for his life to change. And finally it did, he was brought to us.
We absolutely love him. A gentle teddy bear, nice with people, nice with all dogs, always wagging his tail. Now we hope he will find a home because he absolutely deserves.
