Rita: why don’t people realize that their pets might overlive them!

Information:

Name: Rita

Gender: F

Age: d-o-b: ~2009

Size: medium-big (20kg, 50cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated, sterilised

Story:
Rita’s owner died and the family brought her, and her companion Sabi, to the shelter.
Rita is so sad. She must be missing his owner. A shelter is a shock for her. She is not happy. She really needs a home, not a shelter. But who will adopt an older black dog? Noone. This just does not happen.
Rita is a very gentle, calm, friendly dog. She is lovely with people and social with other dogs.

People don’t want to think that their pets might overlive them. And they don’t plan for such eventuality! When they die, their pets are either euthanized or end up in a shelter where they are very unhappy.

Yoyo: lovely older lady

Information:

Name: Yoyo

Gender: F

Age: d-o-b: ~2009

Size: big (30kg, 55cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story:
Yoyo was found in the middle of nowhere, attached to a tree with a chain. Yes, those things happen more often than you can imagine.
She was brought to the shelter and she is quite stressed in a busy place like this – it is often that older dogs have difficulty to adapt into the shelter. She would be so much better in a home…
But with other dogs she is gentle and submissive and with people she is super gentle. She is in good health and hopefully someone will offer her a home regardless her age….

Pedro: such unlucky boy….

Information:

Name: Pedro

Gender: M

Age: d-o-b: 2010

Size: medium (18kg, 50cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story:
Pedro was found on the street a few months ago. One of his back legs was in a lamentable state. In fact noone managed to explain what was the reason, it could be either an accident or a birth defect but basically the leg was listless and dead. He was not using it at all and it only made things more difficult for him. The decision was taken to have this leg amputated and the truth is that he is moving better. He is more lively, he runs with other dogs, he seems comfortable. Apart from this he is a VERY gentle dog, lovely with people and social with other dogs.
