Henrique: old dogs are easily discarded

Information:

Name: Henrique

Gender: M

Age: D-o-b ~2004

Breed: x breton spaniel

Size: medium (15kg, 45cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story, Personality, Others:
Henrique was found on the street….
He is a lovely dog, very nice and very friendly with people. When we enter into his kennel he tries to follow, as much as his forces allow him as he is old and walks slowly. He is gentle and nice with other dogs. It would be a miracle if someone offered him a home for his last years or rather months. He will most probably die in the shelter. So sad.

Lobo: so sad, an old dog in the shelter….

Information:

Name: Lobo

Gender: M

Age: d-o-b: ~2009

Breed: x rafeiro alentejano

Size: big (35kg, 65cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story:
Lobo was brought to a municipal kennel by his owner who did not want him anymore.
People get big dogs to guard their properties but when they are old they get rid of them by leaving them in pounds and then they get new dogs. Sometimes in the same pound right away.
They never really considered the dog as a member of the family.
Lobo is very gentle and very friendly. He gets along with all other dogs – he can be loose in the main area with dozens of dogs, males and females and basically he does not pay attention to any of them. But he likes human company, he follows us around as much as he can. And he is happy to see us, he even tries to play 🙂
He is old. But still in good health. We hope he can spend his last years in a loving home.

Jane: will she die too?

Information:

Name: Jane

Gender: F

Age: d-o-b: ~2010

Size: small (5kg, 35cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story:
Jane’s owner died and she was brought to the shelter. She is old, blind on one eye and with cataract on the other, she still sees some shadows on the other eye. She has a heart murmur and takes medication (Banacep 5mg, once a day, it is not expensive).

For an old and blind dog, she adapted to new circumstances. She walks a bit, she can orientate herself and she spends most of her day sleeping. She is very gentle.
