Sweetie: a survivor of a fire, a victim of human madness

Information:

Names: Sweetie

Gender: M

Age: d-o-b: beg-2018

Size: small (7.5kg, 40cm)

Others: dewormed, vaccinated

Story, Personality, Others:
Sweetie is a victim of a fire. There was an illegal deposit for dogs in northern Portugal, in Santo Tirso, 200 dogs crammed into small spaces in unacceptable conditions. The local authorities knew about the situation as they had received many complaints but for 3 years they were turning blind eye. One day there was a fire in the place. The owner refused to let the fireman in and the local police prevented people from entering to help as it was private property. The owner of the place did not open the kennels and watched dogs dying in the flames. The police stayed at the gates preventing anyone from helping. Over one third of dogs died there and others suffered serious injuries. Only after the fire the public opinion made enough pressure to oblige the owner to open the gates and let the dogs be rescues. The dogs were distributed over vet clinics and various shelters. We got two survivors. One is Sweetie.

Sweetie is a vert friendly and gentle dog. He is used to people. He must have had a home one day. He walks well on the leash. He us friendly with other dogs.
His lungs are ful of smoke. He is taking medication. The prognosis is optimistic, he should recover nicely.
